Year 2 have made a busy start to the term. The children have been learning to work independently and to complete tasks quickly. They are enjoying the daily minute maths challenges and everyone is getting much quicker at mental calculation.
We have been studying maps and plans of the school and thinking about how the old swimming pool area can be improved. The children have learned how to use our new Tuff Cams to take photos of the school and grounds. Year 2 children can give you directions to any part of the school you might wish to visit.
We are looking forward to our history topic in October, when we will be learning about the life of Florence Nightingale. We will be having a special Off the Page history day based on her life on 17th October, when all staff and children will dress up in period dress to learn more about life in the hospital at Scutari. We would welcome parent helpers to join us on that day.
