Year 6

 Welcome to Spring Term 2013!

We shall be studying the Tudors this term.  We will be looking at some significant events and individuals, including Tudor monarchs, and at the everyday lives of men, women and children at that time.   We shall also be focussing on the history of Britain in relation to its European counterparts. Our literacy, art and design learning will tie in with this topic.  On Tuesday 15th January, we are visited by the Tudor peddlar, Jack Greene. 

Our home learning is changing this term.  Mathletics will still be used and available, but we shall be setting maths and literacy tasks weekly, rather than our established fortnightly home learning projects.  This will support Year 6 in their transition to the homework schedule of secondary school. 

 

Our school council leaders are:

Ben Roberts (chair); John Cancea (treasurer) and Ella Greenwood (secretary)

We are sure that they will be fine role models for our school.
