Mustard Seed Project

Mustard Seed Project Kenya (MSP) is the dream child of Geoff Fowler and his wife Rita who retired from teaching at Northborough in 2006.

It’s hard to believe that they opened their school in an urban slum area of Mombasa with just 17 poor children in a rented building in September 2009. Now there are 200 children aged three to eleven in eight classes of 25 with a feeding programme. And what is more they have just built the first phase of their own school. Amazing!

The emphasis at the school is on providing high quality education for all including those with special needs (they have three profoundly deaf children).

Northborough School have been supporting MSP almost from the beginning. Currently we are collecting football boots and Year 4 and Year 5 are making cakes for a cake sale. Funding is always an issue. Fortunately a donor has just given them £7,500 for the feeding programme for the year but they still need to find another £2,500 so any money we can raise will make a big difference. Their website is www.mustardseedproject.co.uk for more information.

Thank you for your continued support.
