Built In A Day?
They say that 'Rome wasn't built in a day,' and Year Four now have some idea why!
Year Four's study of Ancient Rome culminated in a visit to school by Quintus the Roman Gladiator, accompanied by the surgeon Claudius. The children enjoyed finding-out about the intricacies of Roman warfare and the sophisticated tactics deployed by the legionaries. Medicines and health-care Roman style raised a few smiles as well as eyebrows, and the children also learnt what not to wear. The day proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable education, which the class will remember for some time to come.
