Early Year Transition to School – Welcome to Northborough Primary School

Welcome to our new Foundation families. We are delighted that you and your child will be joining us at Northborough Primary School from September. 

Below is our proposed transition timetable; your welcome pack will confirm which sessions your child is to attend.

Our Early Years teacher, Mrs Gerrard, will be arranging appointments to meet your child at their nursery or preschool during the summer term.

Parent meeting: Tuesday 16th June, 5.30-6.30pm 

Teddy Bears Picnic: Friday 19th June, 12-12.45pm 

Visit 1 child, plus one accompanying parent: Wednesday 1st July. Session 1 9.30-10.45am OR session 2 11am-12.15pm

Visit 2 child, plus one accompanying parent: Monday 6th July. Session 1 9.30-10.15am, session 2 11.15am-12pm OR session 3 1.45-2.30pm

September – we start with 20-minute one-to-one parent meetings with the Early Years team. This is a great opportunity to settle any nervous energy. Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September. 

On Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th, the class is split in half. Your child will attend either the 10am-12pm session OR the 1.15-3.15pm session. 

On Thursday 10th 9.15am-1pm, the whole class will come together for the first time and stay for lunch.

On Friday 11th, children will be full-time, 9.05am to 3.30pm - WE CAN'T WAIT!

For now, please await receipt of your child’s welcome pack, which will be distributed to parents in May. These are typically sent via your child’s nursery or preschool setting.
